Addendum

Mary called me and we went out for a walk. It’s a beautiful, sunny day here in Pittsburgh but we’re expecting snow tonight and tomorrow. So much for spring.

I have to add one more torture to my catalog. I’ve written about this before. My tai chi class at the club, which is not really tai chi, but an hour of stretching and moderate exercise, requires full concentration on whether my right or left side is in motion. I’m facing the teacher; she has us all in a big circle with a candle (think spiritual) in the center. I’ve gotten better at it, but there are some movements I can’t follow; I always end up on the wrong foot.

  1. Oh those Tai Chi movements! When I did these classes I was notorious for being the only one on the wrong foot! I decided the humuliation was too much for me to bear. Now I have a Nintendo Wii game and do my stretching by virtually doing all those things I used to do in my twenties! and having a heckuva lot more fun. But I’m glad there are diligent Tai Chi students like you out there. Good luck! Enjoy the sunshine every moment you can!

  2. I am so sorry about you and your gym. I agree with you about gyms, but Tai Chi and Tai Chi/
chi Gong fit me to a T. All of a sudden, I didn’t feel like a fat lump any more. It was something I could do.
This gym Tai Chi piece could be enlarged slightly and published at Ronnie Bennetts story blog. It’s a delight….such a reality that fits us all.
Now I have to check out the Women’s body show.
