Those funny wood-like tulips are still on the tree but the leaves are beginning to appear. I took this photo yesterday before the cold rain we’re having today and the snow we are supposed to have tomorrow.

Ah…that makes me feel a bit better…I once had an oak tree that I watched all year…it would not drop its leaves, even though they were brown and dead, until the following Spring, then the new buds pushed them off. I will google the tulip tree and maybe learn something new…thanks for sharing your observation!
I never paid any attention to the tree last year so I have no idea what is normal. I didn’t know how special it was. I can only wait and see.
Thought I would traipse over here and see what you are up to…this Tulip Tree is a bit psycho…do you think it is confused? Hope your classes are going well…
